In this article we are going to quickly explain how to get up and running with a Node.js environment and add that environment to a team to quickly start collaborating and coding.
- Create a new Node.js environment
- Create a Team and add the environment and members to the team
- Start Coding
Once you create a free account, begin by choosing the Node.js seed from the launcher.
Choose “Dev” and click Launch:
Review your settings and click “Launch Now”:
You should see the dashboard in about 10-15 seconds, and it will take just a few minutes for things to spin up. In the meantime, let’s create a Team. Roll over the Teams menu in the left side main navigation, enter a name, then click the “+” button:
Next, you’ll see the Team Center. To manage it, click on the “Team Settings” tab. As the creator, you are added to the team by default. You can add others by simply typing in the “Add someone” text box. Only other seedUp Members can be added, and you will be presented with a list of other Members as you type. Next add your Environment to your Team. This will make it available to each of them. Start typing the Environment’s name and the drop down will populate with potential matches. Choose the environment you just created:
Now head back over to your Environment by rolling over the left-navigation “environments” menu or choosing it in your dashboard:
To use the Environment’s IDE, click on “Launch IDE” from the top right controls menu. That’s it! Go ahead and start coding! Use the Full Screen or Pop-out buttons (in the top right of the IDE) to minimize distractions in the interface.
That’s all there is to it! In just a few minutes, you’ve created a fully configured, always available, shared Node.js Environment. For more information please see the suIDE docs. If we can assist you, contact us via the in-app help messaging system.
